Re-amping is a long-standing technique that we occasionally use during the mixing of songs. In cases where we want to supplement or even replace the sound set during recording without having to re-record everything later on. At our studio technology course that started at the beginning of the week, on Thursday we mic’d up drums and guitar amplifiers with the guys. The pictures show the miking of a Fender Bassman. We went a bit extreme because we used four microphones. This was great because it made the differences in the sound of the microphones clearly audible. We are pleased to announce that the installation of the acoustic elements in the rehearsal room has been completed. We achieved a much cleaner, more defined sound. What’s also important is that from now on, you can even rehearse before a Samantha Fox record 🙂
